MMPC gets nod from Batangas BOC

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has been acknowledged by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Batangas as one of the top three importers for the first half of 2026.

It inspires us to continuously uphold the highest standards in our import and logistics operations and ensure that we remain a reliable partner in the movement of vehicles and goods in the country,” MMPC President and Chief Executive Officer Ritsu Imaeda was quoted as saying.

    MMPC contributed a total of P9.052 in revenues, according to BOC. 

    The above figure represents more than 6.3 percent of BOC Port of Batangas’ total collections from January to July 2026.

    The Philippine arm of the Japanese carmaker noted that the recognition highlights its continued patronage of the Port of Batangas and its contribution to trade and economic activity in the CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) region. 

    “The recognition reflects MMPC’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with government agencies and industry stakeholders while supporting sustainable trade operations in the country and contributing to the growth and advancement of the Philippine automotive industry,” MMPC wrote in a press release. 

    ‘Xpanding’ local operations 

    On top of producing select models in the country, MMPC is poised to expand its operations in the Philippines by making electrified nameplates

    The company will invest P7 billion, which reflects its long-term business direction of identifying the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as a core growth region, with the Philippines being one of the company’s priority markets.
