New Suzuki S-Cross Revealed At GIIAS 2016

MANILA: Our neighboring country Indonesia is having its most prestigious Auto Show – GIIAS 2016 in its full bloom. The event started on 11th August and will continue till 21st August 2016. With over 25 passenger car brands participating in the event, there are new launches, showcases, and revelations every day. With Honda already shown its Civic hatch prototype, the pressure on other auto brands is building up. The Japanese automaker Suzuki has also showcased its updated S-Cross in Indonesia which has been given some really noticeable modifications. Falling in the crossover segment, this Suzuki drive is not available in the Philippines as of date but if added, it can surely bring a boom in the sales. Tuned Machine For Better Performance

Beneath the striking bonnet of the Suzuki S-Cross 2016, there is an engine with 1.5-litre capacity with VVT technology. This M15A DOHC power-unit is capable of knocking out a peak power worth 109 PS and serves a peak torque counting to 138 Nm. This is the same machine which was plotted under the Suzuki S-Cross or better to say Suzuki SX4 S-cross (As named for the Indonesia-bound model) since 2007 but with some tuning it is now capable of delivering 9 stallions more. The change in fetched with larger pistons with rose the energy significantly. The bore and stroke are still the same in this engine. This engine is coupled with 6-speed automatic or 5-speed manual gearshift to transfer that power. A paddle shift is also given at the steering for more comfort.

Compact Dimensions

The dimensions of the new S-Cross are 4300 mm x 1765 mm x 1590 mm (L X W X H) along with wheelbase measuring 2600 mm which is 5 mm longer, 5 mm wider and 5 mm lower in height than its rival Honda HR-V. The wheelbase is 10 mm shorter in comparison to HR-V while the Suzuki drive has a turning radius of 5.2 meters. The maneuvering capacity of this crossover is relatively nimble in its class making it a good drive to be taken on cramped city roads. With this, the minimum ground clearance is kept 180 mm which is again decent to be taken on varied terrains.

CBU From India

Right now, Suzuki is manufacturing this drive in the neighboring country India and will import it in CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) from this country to supply to the Indonesians. With no nearby plans of manufacturing this Suzuki cross in the Philippines or Indonesia, the Japanese company will distribute to the European countries from its Hungry plant and Asian and Asia Pacific Region from Indian plant.

Special Features

The new S-Cross is packed with numerous advanced features for more comfort and convenience of the occupants. Now, the passengers will get to have the privilege of cruise control which is plotted on the steering of this vehicle. The minimum speed limit to use this feature is set to 40 kmph and the drive can hit the brakes to cancel this option. Also, automatic speed regulator, auto rain wiper sensor, and HID headlights are provided in the new S-Cross model.
