Nissan Juke hits one millionth mark
MANILA: Nissan has just rolled off its one-millionth Juke from its UK factory. The car was introduced back in 2010 and the company has already sold a million of this subcompact crossover car. The major reason behind its success is its sporty styling and relative affordability.
The one-millionth unit produced comes in a ‘Vivid Blue’ paint finish. It comes with a nameplate titled as “1 Million”. The Nissan Juke hails from Europe and is crafted by the Japanese carmaker in Sunderland. Juke's production takes place in the company’s UK production facility where one unit is churned out every 105 seconds.
Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nissan Europe’s senior vice president of manufacturing, said “Reaching the one million milestone is a fantastic achievement for any model.” He further added by saying, “Eight years ago we had never seen anything like the Juke before—it created an entirely new segment and brought a distinctive never-seen-before look to the market. Fast forward to today and we have one million customers and Juke remains the segment leader.”
Mr Fitzpatrick added, “It’s terrific to see that the 2018 model, with all its improvements and personalization options, is as popular as the version that rolled off the line for the first time in 2010.”
The one millionth Juke unit was released from the Sunderland factory along with more than 3 million Qashqais, 2.4 million Micras, and 1.5 million Primeras. The car has been as a recognized segment staple since its 2016 arrival in the Philippines.
