Vehicle specifications
Nissan noted that the Nissan Leaf would be the first to adopt the brand’s all-new three-in-one electric powertrain. This design is 10-percent smaller compared to the one used in the outgoing version.

Maximum output (in horsepower) |
214 |
|
Peak torque (in Newton-meters) |
335 |
Further, the car’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit has been moved under the hood, rather than behind the instrument panel — which resulted to a more spacious cabin.

Nissan also increased the lateral stiffness of the all-new Leaf’s multi-link rear suspension system by 66 percent — complementing the CMF-EV platform and a more rigid body structure to guarantee enhanced agility and improved ride comfort.

While it will come with 19-inch wheels, the new energy vehicle now has 100.076 turning radius — improving by 0.1 meters that boosted its maneuverability in urban environments — thanks to the upgraded rack electronic power steering system (resulting in a minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters).

To maintain optimum battery performance and conserve energy to extend range, the all-new Nissan Leaf’s newly adopted liquid-cooled batteries utilize a new thermal recovery system that harvests heat produced by the On-Board Charger (OBC) to warm the battery — enhancing regeneration potential in cold weather.
