Porsche Q1 2026 sales slide by 15%

Decline expected due to limited product availability

Porsche Q1 2026 sales slide by 15%

MANILA: Porsche sales for the first quarter world reached 60,991 units—reflecting a decline of 15 percent from the 71,470 units rolled out to clients last year.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Why did Porsche’s global sales drop in Q1 2026?

Porsche attributed the 15-percent sales decline to the end of production of the combustion-engined 718 models, the removal of EV tax incentives in the United States, and the strong launch performance of the Macan Electric in the previous year.
  • Which Porsche model contributed the biggest sales figures in Q1 2026?

The Porsche Cayenne was the brand’s top-selling model during the January-March 2026 period, with 19,183 units delivered worldwide.
  • Porsche AG Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing Matthias Becker said that the outcome was well within the firm’s expectations, attributing the overall output to several factors such as:

    • End of production of the combustion-engined 718 model
    • Discontinuation of tax incentives for electric and hybrid vehicles in the United States
    • Strong ramp-up phase of the all-electric Macan in the same period of the year before

“Following the end of the combustion-engined 718 and the strong deliveries of the fully electric Macan at market launch, our figures are below the prior year level but are overall in line with our expectations.

“In the coming months, our focus will be on the market launch of the all-electric Cayenne, which will be delivered to its first customers from summer onwards,” he added.

The executive shared that Porsche’s 911 model range helped buffer the overall sales slowdown for the initial quarter of 2026—as deliveries grew by 22 percent year on year with 13,889 units delivered.

“Strong demand for the 911 and the high proportion of top derivatives clearly demonstrate that the core of our sports car brand remains exceptionally strong,” Becker said.

    Sales performance per region

While global sales showed a balanced structure, Porsche’s North America market remained to provide the biggest churn with 18,344 cars delivered—although down by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

The company also had 14,710 vehicles sold in Europe, sliding down by 18 percent—mainly due to the strong ramp-up effect of the all-electric Macan in the previous year. However, in its home country Germany alone, Porsche had 7,778 examples turned over to clients—four-percent higher than the last year’s first-quarter churn.

Porsche’s China market posted a 21-percent drop—selling only 7,519 vehicles in January-March 2026. The decline was shaped by the challenging market environment there and the brand’s focus on value-oriented sales.

Furthermore, overseas and emerging markets sold a total of 12,640 vehicles, which is a 20-percent decrease from the same timeline last year.

This decline was caused by the end of production of the combustion-engined 718 and the launch of the all-electric Macan in the previous year.

Among its lineup,  the Porsche Cayenne posted the biggest sales contribution for the January-March 2026 period with 19,183 units sold. Amid that strong showing, its sales were still down by four percent compared to its last year’s churn.

As mentioned above, the Porsche delivered 13,889 units of the iconic 911 sports car in the first quarter.

Moreover, 18,209 examples of the Macan were delivered—10,130 of which were combustion-engined variants while 8,079 were from the all-electric version. The total dropped by 23 percent, which was the result of the decline in the rate of the ramp-up of electromobility, the market launch of the Macan Electric in the same period the previous year, and the discontinuation of tax incentives for electric and hybrid vehicles in the United States.

Relatedly, the production of the combustion-engined Macan will continue until the summer of 2026.

Lastly, the Porsche Panamera experienced a 42-percent decrease (4,498 examples), the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman recorded 60-percent drop (1,792 deliveries), and the Taycan had a 19-percent slide (3,420 units).

“We have taken the limited product availability into account in our planning for 2026. Working closely with our global sales regions, we will consistently focus on managing supply and demand in line with our ‘Value over Volume’ strategy,” Becker noted.
