QC, MMDA implement traffic scheme on Elliptical Road
MANILA: The Quezon City local government along with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) are implementing a new traffic scheme today on Elliptical Road to give way to the construction of the MRT-7 project.
Lanes on Elliptical Avenue going to North Avenue and Visayas Avenue will be transferred to the inner lanes starting today.

On July 31, vehicles will have to pass through the curved lanes at Elliptical corner North Avenue as the construction fence at the side of Quezon Memorial Circle will be moved to the middle lanes and work on the fence at the corner of North Avenue will be pushed back.
Motorists are advised to follow the yellow solid lane marking and avoid swerving to prevent accidents and reduce traffic congestion.

These adjustments were made to allow the contractor to complete the portion of the tunnel guideway going to and coming from the Quezon Memoria Circle Station, which will be an underground station.
Construction of the tunnel guideway is expected to be completed by November 2020 by which time the Elliptical Road will revert to the normal traffic scheme.
As of June 2020, the 22-kilometer MRT-7 project is 58.95% completed. It will have 14 stations from North Avenue all the way to San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan.
