Speculation: Suzuki Baleno coming to the Philippines

MANILA: Swift has been a prominent model of Suzuki in the premium hatchback segment, which has managed to keep a good sales record for a significant time period. But, as Suzuki’s competitors have already introduced better options for the customers, Suzuki is also planning to introduce its Baleno in the Philippines market. Though there is no official word from the company yet but, speculations suggest that Suzuki has started testing Baleno in the Philippines and will be launching it soon. Suzuki might use MIAS for revealing the Baleno.

 

The 2017 Suzuki Swift will take time to arrive in the Philippines and till then Baleno might play the trick for the company. It is expected that India-bound Suzuki Baleno will be launched in the Philippines. In India, Baleno is offered with three drivetrains: 1.2 VVT petrol manual/ CVT and 1.3 DDiS diesel manual. Considering the styling of the Baleno, it neither pretty nor very stylish. It is contemporary with a modern touch, sensible but not sporty and relevant but not ravishing.

On the higher variants, the pinch of aggressiveness is added with daytime running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. The headlights without LED daytime running lights resembles with Swift but, a different front grille with chrome finish establish the major difference between the front fascia. However, the back is designed in a stylish manner and accentuate the overall design of this hatchback.

 

The cabin is intelligently designed which gives enough room to the occupants. The overall theme is inspired from the Swift but, with significant tweaks like futuristic instrument panel and center panel designed in a different manner. The safety measures include dual front airbags, ABS and EBD.

 

Let’s see when we get to see this hatchback of Suzuki in the Philippines which will be taking on the likes of Hyundai Accent hatch and Kia Rio hatchback.
