Suzuki produced 1.603 million units globally in the first five months of 2026.The aforementioned represents a 109.9 percent year-on-year increase in global sales for the Japanese marque. Further, this latest report indicates that May 2026 is the eighth consecutive month in which Suzuki has seen an upward trend in global car sales.
For the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) alone, the brand delivered 308,426 units to clients in the first five months of 2026. Around 93 percent of those were kei-class cars. The bulk of global sales during the said period, however, was made overseas, at 1,210,926 units.
Per Suzuki, the leading region in terms of global sales from January to May 2026 is India with 896,515 units sold - a 115.7 percent year-on-year increase.
In terms of production, Suzuki’s global figure for January to May 2026 stands at 1,603,576 units. Within the said period, 398,000 units were made in Japan, while 1,205,576 units were rolled out from overseas production facilities.

Suzuki: PH market in context
In relation to the local market, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated’s (CAMPI ) May 2026 year-to-date report indicated that Suzuki Philippines ranks third in the sales charts.
Specifically, the brand’s local arm has sold 7,730 units in the first five months of the year. Per CAMPI, this is equivalent to a market share of 4.62 percent.

One of Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s latest activities in the Philippine market was the preview of the eVitara battery electric vehicle (BEV) at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
Once fully released for the market, the Suzuki eVitara will retail at P2.02 million, and it will rival the likes of the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Propelling the Suzuki-made BEV crossover is a single electric motor that produces up to 172 horsepower and 193 Newton-meters of torque. Its 61-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate battery also provides a range of 475 kilometers.
