Toyota officially becomes Gold Partner for Japanese Olympians, Paralympians
Brand continues its long tradition of supporting sports
MANILA: Toyota Motor Corporation has become the official mobility partner of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) and the Japanese Paralympic Committee (JPC).

Toyota highlights values such as perseverance, taking on challenges, loyalty to teammates, and respect for opponents.Specifically, the Japanese marque has become a Team Japan Gold Partner. In doing so, the company will ensure that Japanese athletes’ mobility needs are well catered to, and so will ensure that they will focus on training in their respective sports and compete at the highest level on the global stage.
Notably, Toyota has been a longtime supporter of sports on the global level. This has been the case since the company’s early days, and even its founder, Kiichiro Toyoda, established a sports club alongside the company’s automotive operations.
As such, Toyota believes in the adage of never giving up and continuing to take on challenges, being loyal and fighting for your teammates while respecting one’s opponents.
With the said partnership, Toyota will work closely with JOB and JPC. Toyota shared that it will listen to the needs and wishes of the athletes and sport federations. The company will likewise focus on areas where “support is less readily available and to create an environment in which athletes can continue to take on challenges.”
Additionally, Toyota shared that its support goes beyond competition periods. The company instead said that it will support athletes as they train every day, during their travels to competitions, and in addressing “various difficulties.”
Team Japan athletes will likewise see a broadened “circle of support” during the 2026 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asia Para Games.

Apart from Team Japan, Toyota’s local arm has also supported Philippine-based athletes. The most recent roster are the Global Team Toyota Athletes such as two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and Paralympic swimmer Ernie Gawilan.
The two belong to the Global Team Toyota Athletes Team Asia, which also consists of athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Earlier in the year, Toyota Motor Philippines also held a basketball clinic together with B. Hope Asia Jr. Clinic. This was initiated in collaboration with B.LEAGUE - Japan's top-tier basketball series.
And of course, TMP’s support extends beyond traditional sports to ESports competitions. One example is the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Esports GT Championship. The aforementioned is a grand sim-racing competition, whose final round is set to kick off on September 27, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center.
