Toyota to unveil 3 models at PIMS 2026

MANILA: Toyota is set to officially unveil three models at the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) 2026.

The leading automotive distributor in the country posted a teaser online that sparked speculations of the possible models that would be introduced in the country.

In a statement, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) said that its booth at the four-day motoring event will carry the theme, “The Toyota Choice” anchored on the marque’s Multi-Pathway approach.

Per TMP, the booth will highlight a range of options for different lifestyles and priorities, “including the efficiency of internal combustion engines, the strength of diesel, the practicality of hybrids (HEV), and the innovation of battery electric vehicles (BEV), all aligned with Toyota’s global Beyond Zero vision.”

As seen in the photo posted over social media, TMP’s display will be led by the Toyota BZ4x.

Other nameplates that might make its appearance at the PIMS 2026 are:

• Land Cruiser FJ
• All-new Hilux
• LC300 Hybrid

The aforementioned models were among those that TMP will release in the country this year.

To recall, TMP confirmed the arrival of the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux back in November last year. This has also brought up the possibility of the Philippines having a battery-electric-powered pick-up truck that may be called the Travo.

In the Land of Smiles, the next-generation Toyota Hilux comes with the following powertrains:

Notably, the Toyota Hilux Travo-E also comes with a range of 315 kilometers (km), and a CCS2 direct current (DC) fast-charging port. 

Meanwhile, Zigwheels Philippines had a glimpse of the Land Cruiser FJ at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. Here is a quick walkaround of the vehicle there.

To sum it up, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, at least the Japan-spec version, is propelled by a 2.7-liter gasoline mill that is capable of putting out 160 hp and 246 Nm of torque. The said powertrain is paired with a six-speed electronically controlled transmission (Super ECT) and a 4x4 drivetrain.

On the other hand, reports about the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 having a hybrid powertrain came out as early as mid 2025.

This option is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine mated to an electric motor-generator in a parallel hybrid configuration, delivering up to 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque. Notably, the electrified LC300 also has a 4x4 drivetrain, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a wading depth of 700 millimeters (mm).
