Upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser to be fitted with hybrid powertrain
Electrified mill more powerful than already-available diesel engine
MANILA: Toyota has just revealed its upcoming Land Cruiser in the global market, which will come in a hybrid powertrain.

The Toyota Land Cruiser will be first offered in the Australian market come the first half of 2026.In a statement, the Japanese automaker shared that the forthcoming sport utility vehicle (which will become available in the Australian market come the first half of 2025) is set to combine the marque’s Toyota’s decades-long expertise in hybrid powertrain technology with the Land Cruiser’s “reputation for quality, durability and reliability.

Powering the offering will be a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine mated to an electric motor generator in a parallel hybrid configuration — which is said to be provide more churn compared to the 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel mill that can already give out:

Further, Toyota noted that the Land Cruiser’s hybrid powertrain will be fitted with an electric motor that can dish out smooth and even throttle response in any road condition.

More details on the new Land Cruiser will be made available closer to its Australian introduction in the first half of 2026.
