V-Green signs multiple MOUs for vast EV infra expansion
Company has signed MOUs with provincial governments of Bataan and Cavite
MANILA: V-Green, the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure arm of Vingroup and the global EV charging partner of VinFast, has signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with the Provincial Governments of Bataan and Cavite, as well as fuel company Cleanfuel.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
How many EV charging stations is V-Green planning to put up in Bataan?
Under its MOU with the Provincial Government of Bataan, V-Green plans to establish a total of 600 charging stations and 1,200 battery-swapping stations in the province. What does V-Green’s MOU with Clean Fuel and Cavite entail?
V-Green’s MOU with Clean Fuel allows the company to put up EV charging stations at each of the fuel company’s stations in Cavite.Through these MOUs, the Vietnam-based EV infrastructure firm will be able to greatly expand its EV charging network in the country.
Specifically, the MOU with Bataan will enable the province to become the leading model for EV adoption through a sizeable EV charging network covering one city and 11 municipalities. This, the company says, practically provides EV charging coverage for the entirety of the said province.
V-Green’s MOU with Bataan aims to deploy 600 charging stations and 1,200 battery-swapping stations. The said province’s government will facilitate permits, coordinate with local government units, and guide the company to suitable locations for its EV charging stations.
The company, on the other hand, will solely be responsible for the supply, installation, operation, and maintenance of the entire EV charging network.
As mentioned above, V-Green also signed an MOU with Clean Fuel and Cavite. This will allow the company to explore the possibility of installing EV charging stations at Cavite-based Clean Fuel stations.
V-Green is heavily considering placing an EV charging station at every single Clean Fuel station across Luzon in the near future. If this comes to pass, it will help push all-electric and even plug-in hybrid mobility more towards the mainstream - a huge step in weaning away from the traditional dependence on the increasingly expensive fossil fuels.

V-Green’s partnership model
The MOUs mentioned above are the result of V-Green’s partnership model for the Philippine setting.
On the micro scale, this strategy points towards working with property owners and government entities in the country to host EV charging stations. Costs for these will be borne entirely by V-Green and will help property owners and local governments capitalize on their “underutilized real estate.”
Under this model, V-Green has already installed over 150,000 charging stations in Vietnam. Similar arrangements of EV infrastructure projects also exist in Indonesia and India.
