Additionally, VinEnergo will have an 80 percent ownership over these co-developed projects. The company further shared that it will be responsible for construction, long-term operations, and capital mobilization for these projects. The earliest of these will start in 2026, with some expected to become operational in 2027.

    VinEnergo projects around the world

VinEnergo also has other co-developed energy projects around the world.

In Northern Europe, the Vietnamese company has already secured partners, including Green Go Energy, with a goal of developing facilities capable of producing 2 GW in Denmark and Sweden.

The company’s long-term goal for this region is an expanded energy capacity of 6.2 GW across Europe.

In Vietnam, VinEnergy has already opened the Hai Phong LNG thermal power plant, which has a designed capacity of 4,800 megawatts (MW). It is one of the largest of its kind in Vietnam, and its construction was made possible through an 178 trillion Vietnamese Dong (VND), or around P400 billion, investment from the company.

VinEnergy has also secured approval as a qualified investor for the Vinh Thuan Wind Power Project. Plus, the company has also made investments in Phase 1 of the Hon Trau Wind Power Plant in Gia Lai, Vietnam.

    VinEnergo’s overall plan

Why the investments? Well, according to VinEnergo, it aims to provide clean, stable, and efficient energy accessible to the public on a long-term basis. This also goes hand-in-hand with the proliferation of all-electric vehicles, including those from VinFast, a VinGroup Brand.

Over the next three years, VinEnergy aims to achieve its goal of providing 100 GW of deployed capacity. Of the said figure, a total of 10 GW will be provided by development agreements, including those in the Philippines.

Furthermore, a total of 50 GW will come from its core international markets, which include North America, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and Southeast Asia.

“Entering 2026, VinEnergo moves into a new development phase with the aspiration to become a renewable energy enterprise with global scale and competitiveness,” VinEnergy Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Anh Khoa said.

“The simultaneous deployment of a large portfolio across multiple markets affirms our capacity for governance and execution of complex projects. VinEnergo believes we will make an important contribution to the global energy transition process, while elevating the stature of Vietnamese enterprises on the global green energy map,” Khoa added.
