Vios Cup Race Results: Merry March for some, Rest Just had Fun

MANILA: As said and written thousands of times, Toyota Vios Cup is the one and only racing event of the country that is no less than a festival. It’s not that the country is any short of such events, but the love, affection, and glamour attached to the Toyota backed event is just unmatched. You name it and the event has it, is the situation with Vios Cup - born racers, top faces of the beauty world, celebrities from different backgrounds, excited audience and what not. Such is the craze and charisma that Toyota year after year is forced and equally pleased to expand Vios Cup radius.

For comparison, you can scroll down the memory lane to 2014, when the first Vios Cup was held. That time the event was not that big with only a handful of celebrities and racers around. A year later, in 2015, the event took a 360-degree turn both on the participation and onlookers front. And now in 2016, Toyota decided to take one of the biggest motoring events of the country to a completely different level. It added few new things to the competition like big names to the celebrity list, a new racing class and bigger prize money.

Like all years, this time too Toyota Philippines announced 2016 Vios Cup schedule early, with the first race took place in March. 18th and 19th March were the selected dates for the first race of season 3. So, it's obvious that the race is done and it's result time now.

Now the Leg 1 consisted of two races, Race 1 the qualifying and Race 2 being the final event. So, it's obvious that racers have to qualify Race 1 to be able to get through the final tournament. Also, the entire racing event is divided into 4 classes defining races breed, named and defined below.

Promotional Class - Budding Philippines racing stars

Sporting Class - Consisting of learned racers

Super Sorting Class - Best-in-class races, with their worth proved in earlier races

Vios Cup 2016 Report card is given below, highlighting few names that topped the charts in 2015 as well. To the list are included efficient drivers like Paolo Rodriguez, Sean Velasco, Allan Uy, Andres Calma and Joye Pring.

Drivers with Exceptional Performance in respective categories -

Celebrity Class - Both Jinno Rufino and Fabio Ide claimed the Vios throne this time around. They respectively occupied the first and second position both in the first and second race.

Promotional Class - Evelyn Coseteng who came third in Race 1, made it to the 2nd position in race 2. While it was just the opposite for Bobby Pangilinan, he dropped to 3rd position in race 2 from 2nd in race 1.

Sporting Class - Both Miguel Diaz and Sean Velasco jumped to the first and second position in the final race from their not so good performance in Race 1. Now that's what we call hard work.

Super Sporting Class - High expectations always follow names like Allan Uy and Anders Calma. And both rightly proved their worth by acquiring first and second position in the final showdown.
