Honda PH hits 10-M moto production landmark

MANILA: Honda Philippines, Incorporated (HPI) has reached the 10-million-unit production milestone for its motorcycle line in its Batangas manufacturing facility.

In a statement, the Japanese marque’s motorcycle arm looks at the achievement as a significant milestone in HPI’s manufacturing history and highlights the company’s continued efforts to provide high quality, reliable and environment friendly motorcycles that bring the joy of mobility and riding comfort to Filipino customers.

During the event themed “Commemoration of 10 Million Production, Igniting the Passion to Lead the Future Beyond the Limits,” HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi recognized the people and partners whose dedication helped achieve this historic milestone.

“This milestone of 10 million units was not achieved by Honda Philippines alone. It was made possible by our customers who have trusted Honda, our dealers who deliver our products and services to customers every day, our suppliers and partners who support our business and production, and generations of associates who have put their pride and passion into every motorcycle we make. Honda Philippines will move forward with gratitude to Philippine society,” he was quoted as saying.

For his part, Honda Motor Company Limited Executive Managing Officer Minoru Kato expressed confidence on its local subsidiary’s growing role as one of the key production bases within the marque’s global motorcycle network and its continued rise amid evolving customer expectations.

" Today, customer needs and expectations are changing rapidly. People are looking for greater value that fits their daily lives, including safety, convenience, and care for the environment. I hope today’s milestone of 10 million units will become the starting point for the next stage of growth for Honda Philippines.”

Meanwhile, Asian Honda Motor Company Limited Senior Vice President of MC Business Koji Sugita highlighted the brand’s commitment to boosting its connection with Filipino riders and communities, as well as with other Honda companies.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Honda Philippines on 10 million motorcycle production. This year, not only your continued dedication to the Philippines market for Filipino customers, but you have also taken very important new step, to take an important role in the network of mutual supply across Asia and Oceania region,” the executive mentioned.

Following the recent feat, HPI vowed to further bolster its manufacturing operations and pursue further growth in the Philippine motorcycle industry.

Milestone unit

To note, the milestone unit was a Honda Click 125's  Smart Edition in Pearl Arctic White color—a newly added color for the said option.

Recently, HPI released a new trim under the aforementioned scooter stable, the Click125 Street. Priced at P90,000, the newest offer comes with a more aggressive look and revised amenities while keeping the same 125 cubic-centimeter, gasoline-fed engine which can do 50.3 kilometers per liter based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards.
