GWM Cannon: 3 reasons to buy

GWM Philippines rolled out the latest iteration of the Cannon pickup truck sometime this year. The local wing of the Chinese carmaker even took members of the motoring media to R33 Drift Track in Pampanga to showcase the capabilities of the automobile. 

With many Filipino car buyers on the market for a vehicle that can combine the benefits of a lifestyle pickup and a utility truck, we take a look at three reasons why they should consider getting the GWM Cannon for their next ride. 

Improved looks 

The newest version of the GWM Cannon looks sleek and sporty without being too loud. The fascia of the pickup truck wears a black grille with a large emblem at the center, which blends well with the dark-colored grille flanked by its headlamps. 

Its minimalist lower meshwork and its chunky front bumper, on the other hand, are bordered by its fog lamps. 

The side profile of the GWM Cannon also looks as robust as its front end. Found here are chunky claddings on the wheel arches. They are complemented by large running boards as well as the black-colored door handles and side mirrors. 

Finally, its rear packs a decent-sized bed with bedliner and a hydraulically-assisted tailgate. Car buyers will also love its step board, which GWM Philippines said can hold a good amount of weight.

Decent cabin 

The cabin of the GWM Cannon has also improved starting comfortable leather seating and large screens. The digital instrument panel measures seven inches, while the infotainment screen has a size of 12.3 inches. 

Moreover, the GWM Cannon now has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, allowing more customers to connect and integrate their devices into their journeys. 

The second-row seating is also spacious enough that even tall and long-legged passengers can still rest comfortably. 

Beefier engine 

One good reason to get into the GWM Cannon is its beefier engine, which now has a displacement size of 2.4 liters. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and generates the following figures:

The said setup is adequate enough for daily drives as well as for powering through expressways. This makes the GWM Cannon a dependable pickup truck for both work and leisure.
