2017 Nissan X-Trail revealed
MANILA: In order to compete in its respective segment, the Nissan X-Trail has been updated for the 2017 model year. A few days back, Nissan released the first official teaser image of the upcoming 2018 Leaf and now, it has breathed new life to the current-generation X-Trail. The crossover has not only received significant changes in design but, has also received new features to improve the convenience of the occupants.
The front features the brand’s signature V-Motion 2.0 look, which is now even more aggressive and appealing. The grille is now larger and more angular than the previous model while the front bumper consists of more defined lines at the corner. The fog lights are also redesigned that give a fresh appeal to the front. One of the most significant features is the integration of LED daytime running lights that adds to the aggressive quotient of the crossover in an effective manner.
The rear profile of the 2017 X-Trail is also slightly updated and the changes include an extra touch of chrome detailing and new lower valence. In addition to this, the rear lights now feature LEDs for the complete cluster. The redesign also consists of new 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels while the rest of the body remains unchanged.
The cabin is also refined to match the standards of the competitors and according to Nissan, more high-end materials are deployed to give a premium touch. The passenger side dashboard has a new look while the carbon-effect on the top half is now removed. The addition of a new soft-touch panel and black trimming provides plush feel in a significant manner. Even the color trims for the interior are increased to improve the customization options.
Considering the features of Nissan X-Trail, a new interface for the infotainment system and new navigation system is introduced. There is a new steering wheel, which is more sporty than the previous version with audio and cruise controls. For pleasing the audiophiles, an eight-speaker Bose sound system is added whereas, the boot space is improved with nine configurations available for setting cargo area.
One of the major integrations in the 2017 X-Trail is the introduction of ProPilot feature, designed by Nissan. This is a semi-autonomous driving system that assists the driver in controlling the acceleration, braking, and steering. According to the manufacturer, the system is helpful on highways and heavy traffic.
Considering the power mill options, it is expected that the updated X-Trail will continue to feature a 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre engines in the Philippines market. We are not sure about the launch date of 2017 X-Trail in the Philippines market but, it is expected that it will mark its entry by Q3 of this year.
