2018 Honda Accord teased ahead of its official debut

MANILA:  Before making the official debut of its premium sedan, the Japanese automaker, Honda, has teased the design sketch of 2018 Accord. From the teaser image, it can be concluded that the upcoming D-segment sedan will have a sharper look and more sporty profile. The front is dominated by the Solid Wing Face grille and sleek headlights which are quite similar to Civic.

The sketch also revealed a more rakish windshield, a new set of alloy wheels and a defined beltline. From the design teaser, it is indicated that the upcoming 2018 Accord has taken styling cues from the Clarity fuel-cell vehicle (FCV). A few days back, the automaker revealed that the upcoming sedan will feature turbocharged VTEC engines. One of the engines will be a 1.5-litre turbo inline-four which is currently deployed in the Civic and next-generation CR-V. The engine will be mated to a CVT or a six-speed manual.

Next in the list is the 2.0-litre detuned version of Civic Type R, which might get associated with a ten-speed automatic gearbox or the standard 6-speed manual. Just like the current version, the 2018 Honda Accord will also get a greener version with a two-motor hybrid system which is also a part of the updated Jazz. The 2018 Honda Accord will make its world premiere on July 14, 11:00 AM (Eastern Daylight Time) in Detroit, Michigan. Users can also livestream the debut from Honda’s official Youtube channel.
