2018 Hyundai Creta revealed with mild changes

MANILA: We wouldn’t place our debts on sighting the Hyundai Creta on roads anymore. However, the B-segment crossover has received a makeover in many parts of the world. The Korean car manufacturer has made all automobile enthusiasts in the Philippines eager to look at the famous SUV with all its upgraded features. The company has made changes to the outer body, the cabin and upgraded a few technical features as well.

Hyundai Creta is now following the refreshing corporate look that the brand is trying to reflect. Its hexagonal grille is getting wider and larger than before, similar to the one in Santa Fe.  Additionally, the trimmings are a great addition to the grille that flaunts the “T look of the panel.

It has achieved a unique design with reshaped front bumpers which features sharp corner edges and new fog light housings. The addition that is our favourite is the final touch to the front fascia which is achieved with a faux skid plate by the apron.

However, the rest of the body will not have any major changes except a few minor alterations such that the crossover looks fresh. The roof rails and diamond-cut alloy wheels are some of the most interesting changes that the 2018 Hyundai Creta has received. The back has also received a new bumper with a faux skid plate.

It is the inside of the car that has retained the maximum features of the previous model. While there are a few changes to the trims and new materials are used, it looks the same from a holistic point of view. The 8-inch touchscreen now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both. The instrument cluster is also new, with a new TFT screen and graphics.

We are still waiting for the specifications of the engine to be announced. However, experts believe that they will be similar to the current model of the Hyundai Creta. This would imply a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre gasoline engine, a1.6-litre turbodiesel unit. The engine options remain constant with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic for the 1.6-litre gas and diesel engines.
