After TMP, Lexus PH recalls select units for instrument ‘defective’ cluster panel too

MANILA: Lexus Philippines is conducting a special service campaign on select models for faulty digital instrument panels — shortly after Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) announced a similar initiative for the same issue.

According to the premium automaker’s local distributor, a total of 1,172 examples of the Lexus LM, LS500, and LS500h are being recalled and need to undergo reprogramming or replacement of the 12.3-inch screen in front of the driver.

The breakdown of the affected Lexus vehicles in the country are as follows:

Involved clients will receive an Official Notification Letter from TMP and will be invited by authorized Lexus Dealers to reprogram or replace the Combination Meter System free of charge.

Like what could happen to the Toyota Alphard, Camry, Corolla Altis, and Corolla Cross, the screen’s system repeatedly saves unneeded data that uses up its memory sooner than expected. Such a case could lead to non-visible gauges, warning lights and indicators.

Further, the reprogramming software and replacement parts for the said service campaign are currently unavailable and are expected to be ready by October 2025 or later.

Once repair parts are available, involved customers in the service campaign are encouraged to set an appointment with an authorized Lexus dealer to perform the necessary repair have it repaired during their respective periodic maintenance appointment (if the vehicle is already due or approaching its regular maintenance schedule).
