Atsushi Najima is the new Nissan Philippines President and MD

MANILA: Nisan Philippines, Inc. has appointed a new President and Managing Director for them. Ramesh Narasimhan, who has been playing the role for around three years now, will be succeeded by Atsushi Najima.

The new president and managing director will take his seat on April 1, 2019. "Under the strong leadership of Ramesh Narasimhan, Nissan has seen significant growth in the promising Philippines market. In the calendar year 2018, Nissan's sales volume in the Philippines grew by 40% to an 8.7% market share", said Vincent Wijnen, Senior Vice President for sales and marketing at Nissan Asia & Oceania in praise of Ramesh Narasimhan.

Narasimhan’s journey with Nissan is not over yet as Nissan has appointed the automobile professional as the new president at Nissan Thailand. He will take over the role on April 1, 2019, too. Before starting to lead Nissan Philippines,

Inc. in 2016, Ramesh Narasimhan joined Nissan as their chief financial officer in 2014. Wijnen said on Najima’s appointment, "With his rich experience in managing teams across multiple countries, I am confident that Atsushi will continue to drive the strong growth trajectory established by the current leadership team”.

Najima has not had too long a journey with Nissan yet as he only joined the automobile manufacturer in 2016 as deputy general manager of Nissan's regional financial management group in Japan. Before joining Nissan, Najima worked for Procter & Gamble across Asia for good 18 years.

Although he may not have too much of automobile experience like Narasimhan, Najima has previously played different finance and general management roles in the Philippines.
