BMW M Motorsport won 215 races in 2024

MANILA: BMW M Motorsport's active race cars have collectively achieved a total of 215 wins in 2024. Within the year, the German car brand’s motorsport division has also completed more than 1,000 races, and its competing vehicles have managed to cover over one million kilometers. 

“The figures for the 2024 season of BMW M Motorsport are impressive and underline our strong commitment to various areas of motorsport,” Head of BMW M Motorsport Andreas Roos said. 

“From the top class in prototype to professional GT3 sport, pure customer racing with the BMW M4 GT4 and many other cars, as well as automotive gaming, BMW M Motorsport is one of the biggest competitors worldwide. I am very pleased with this strong performance and congratulate all the teams and drivers who were able to celebrate successes in BMW Motorsport cars in 2024,” Roos added. 

Notable cars for the race team’s 2024 lineup include the M Hybrid V8 prototype, which saw its first podium finish in its first year at the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2024, the V8-powered race car also saw its second year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, where it managed to clutch a 1-2 finish. In total, the M Hybrid V8 prototype wrapped up 2024 with a total of 82,400 racing and testing kilometers. 

The BMW M4 GT3, on the other hand, finished 2024 strong with a total of 50 victories and ten global titles. Per BMW, the M4 GT3’s key achievements include team titles for Schubert Motorsport in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, Team WRT in the Fanatec GT World Challange Europe, and the driver’s title for Belgian racer Charles Weerts in the Intercontinental GT Challange. 

Additionally, the German marque’s M4-based GT3-spec car has secured podium positions at several 24-hour races at the Daytona Speedway in the USA, the Nurburgring in Germany, Le Mans in France, and Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. 

The BMW M4 GT4, meanwhile, also saw its first-ever Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) global GT4 Manufacturer’s title. Within the year, the GT4-spec vehicle likewise won a total of 164 races. 

In the realm of sim racing, BMW M Motorsport’s Team Redline likewise attained victory at the prestigious Esports World Cup - the grand finale of the Electronic Sports League R1 racing series. 

To note, the basis for the BMW M Motorsport’s GT3 and GT4-spec race cars is the M4. In the Philippines, the aforementioned vehicle is sold as the M4 Coupe Competition, and it is priced at P9.79 million. 

At maximum, the inline-6-powered model can produce up to 510 horsepower and 650 Newton-meters of torque. It also boasts a zero to 100-kilometer sprint time of 3.5 seconds.
