Changan in China registers massive 621% sales growth in Feb.

MANILA: With recovery being perceived for the Chinese automotive industry, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) projected vehicle sales to increase by about 4% to 26.3 million vehicles this year due in part to favorable government policies. 

Changan Automobile significantly contributed to this good performance because it began 2021 strongly as the country’s top-selling domestic brand. It also sold more than 1.5 million units by the end of last year.

With this, Changan Automobile is regarded as one of China’s top four automotive giants. 

Last February 2021, the sales volume of the Changan passenger vehicles alone was 103,893 units (year-on-year) — a massive spike by 621% from the same period in 2020. 

Members of the Changan “Blue Core Champion Family” were  volume drivers. The CS75 Plus five-seater SUV is highly recognized for its exceptional combination of technology and design, and it continues to sell over 30,000 units month-on-month. 

Changan’s top-selling “interactive and social” CS35 Plus subcompact SUV was able to end February with 7,023 units sold.
