Changan PH presents all-new CS35 Plus, priced from P898K

MANILA: Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) officially launched the new CS35 Plus today.

The new Changan CS35 Plus features a spectacular yet sporty styling that defies convention, bringing the trendiness and the commanding presence together in a stunning way.

Its robust face draws attention, with a bold grille design inspired by obsidian rock formation patterns and a split headlamp layout with front-facing LED daytime running light (DRL) and low-positioned LED automatic headlamps. Its red racing line, which goes around the front headlamps, runs up the muscular side body, and merges smoothly with the new LED taillamps on the whale-tail rear design, adds to its athletic appeal. The vehicle's aircraft-inspired light design, which is notably evident in the rear, is a said to be a show-stopper at night.

Other notable exterior features include the LED high-mount stop lamp that improves visibility on the road, a shark fin antenna that serves as an edgy accessory while contributing to the aerodynamic design, dual stainless exhaust pipes for a sportier appeal, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels with a square-wheel arch design that enhances the subcompact crossover's side profile.

The new CS35 Plus also comes with smart features like the engine remote start, which lets the driver start the engine and the air-conditioning system even before entering the vehicle. However, if they do not get in and drive within 10 minutes, the engine will be turned off automatically as a precaution.

The premier cabin of the new CS35 Plus has been ergonomically optimized with occupants in mind, with features within easy reach and ample headroom and legroom for both the driver and the passenger. The multi-functional D-Type steering wheel, for example, features vital car functions like cruise control.  An auto climate control system and a PM 0.1 filter keep the cabin cool with clean air. There is also a rear AC vent to provide additional cooling comfort for rear passengers.

A 10-inch touch display with Bluetooth connectivity for personal music, smartphone mirroring for calls, navigation, and video playback is at the heart of the CS35 Plus' sleek dashboard. There are also two USB ports and a built-in wireless charging pad for smartphone charging.

The dual tone leather seats, made with durable, body-supporting foam and covered in vibrant red and black racing combination leather, are the most noticeable feature of the cabin. The Deep Sea Silence Technology that makes use of 50 noise dampeners in 20 strategic cabin areas, as well as reinforced glass on the front windshield and side windows, effectively blocks and absorbs exterior sounds.

A panoramic sunroof opens up the vehicle for more sense of space, instantly improving the occupants' visual experience, refreshing the cabin with cool air on relaxing days, and lighting up the ride on sunny days.

The CS35 Plus also comes with 403 liters of cargo space that can be expanded to 950 liters with the second-row seats' 4:6 configurations.  The top-of-the-line variant also comes with a new power tailgate that can be opened with the key device. The cargo door will also automatically open if the driver stands behind the vehicle for around four seconds with the key in their hand.

The CS35 Plus is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine that churns out a maximum power output of 160hp and 260Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a seven-speed wet dual clutch transmission that enables smooth gear changes, quick responses, and ample acceleration on demand.

The newly tuned suspension system, which features a MacPherson in the front and a torsion beam in the rear, also provides a smooth and stable ride.

With its electronic power steering, the new CS35 Plus offers better steering control options. The driver can select from three adjustable  settings: "Sport" for more consistent control at high speeds, "Comfortable" for lighter control while parking or negotiating traffic, and "Standard" for daily city traffic.

The new CS35 Plus also comes standard with Safe-tech System, which includes smart active safety features for sense of security on the road.

One of these features is adaptive cruise control (ACC), which uses a built-in radar to monitor the motion of the vehicle ahead and provide information to actively adjust and reduce the CS35 Plus's speed. Meanwhile, the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system supplements the driver's braking application in emergency situations, and the front collision warning (FCW) system provides visual alerts on the digital instrument display and activates a braking alarm when it recognizes a potential collision with the vehicle ahead. These features, of course, do not replace the driver's cautious and responsible driving, therefore adhering to traffic rules at all times is still a must.

Additional safety features on the new CS35 Plus include a panoramic camera system that provides the driver with both 2D and 3D visibility, as well as a 360-degree view of their surroundings to help them avoid obstacles when parking or navigating in tight areas. When the camera recognizes a potential risk, such as an accidental collision, the driver receives HD video recording in all directions.

The new CS35 Plus has an innovative six-airbag system that includes front and side driver and passenger seat airbags, as well as front to rear side air curtains to help protect occupants in case of a crash. The cabin is also equipped with Changan's ultra-high strength body structure, which maintains rigidity while reducing impact force in the crumple zone areas, providing a safe cabin for all occupants.

Other safety features include the smart window system with anti-pinch function on all four windows, tire pressure monitoring system, Isofix for child safety seats, and an auto close feature that closes all open windows and sunroof if left open after locking the vehicle.

The new CS35 Plus is available in three variants: Lite (P898,000), Hype (P969,000), and Luxe (P999,000). It comes in three colors: Wunderlust White, Timber Wolf Gray, and Draco Red.
