MANILA: The Chery Group officially broke the 20 million cumulative global sales milestone a few days ago. The Chinese conglomerate’s 20 millionth unit sold is a Fulwin-branded electric vehicle that was already turned over to its owner.

Chery Group didn't specify what model this was, but the Fulwin unit is quite fitting in context to the said milestone, as the original Fulwin sedan was the company's first-ever production vehicle and its first-ever model to have been imported. This was all the way back in 1999. 

But as Chery revels in this huge accomplishment, it also reinforces its commitment to bringing forth high-quality products that are set to contribute to a better future. This is embodied by its “From China to the World” global expansion campaign.

Notably, Chery detailed this campaign through previous activities, including announcing its plan to produce cars at Nissan’s largest plant in the UK by 2027. Back in March 2025, Chery also reached the 1 millionth export milestone.

Chery Auto PH: latest updates

In the Philippines, Chery, under the distributorship of the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI), has mirrored the expansion initiative of its global counterparts. 

A few months ago, in June 2026, UAAGI, together with Pacific Autoworld Incorporated, bared its plan to establish a new Chery dealership in Cebu. Earlier in the year, in May 2026, UAAGI successfully opened its Chery-BAIC joint dealership in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. 

Chery Auto Philippines has also continued to participate in the UAAGI On the Move 2026 series of mall-based roadshow events that bring the public closer to the Chery and other brands from the said distributor. 

Chery’s local arm has seen several strings of milestones as well. In June 2026, it posted a significant year-on-year growth of 82 percent as of May 2026. This is backed by its strong total sales from January-May 2026, consisting of 762 units. 

In July 2026, Chery Auto Philippines officially surpassed the 1,000-unit sales mark for the Tiggo rEV (range-extended vehicle). This came just a year after the said model was introduced back in September 2026.

Chery Auto PH: latest offering

The latest Chery model to have debuted in the Philippine market is the qEV. It was unveiled at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), and it has a starting price of P1.12 million. As of this publishing, the all-electric hatch is available for pre-orders. 

Propelling the Chery qEV is a single-motor setup that’s paired with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a lithium-iron phosphate battery. This setup provides a range of 405 kilometers (km), according to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). 

Topping up the model is done via a direct current (DC) port that can increase its state-of-charge from 30-80 percent in just 16 minutes. It also comes fitted with a vehicle-to-load function. 

Other notable features of the Chery eQV include, but are not limited to:

• 15.6-inch 2.5 Qualcomm Snapdragon infotainment system
