EVAP appoints Tee Ten as group head

MANILA: Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten has been appointed as President of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), succeeding Edmund Araga.

Tee Ten also serves as President of the Philippine Automotive Dealers Association and is the Co-chair of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Automotive Committee.

Autohub Group posted on its official Facebook page, a congratulatory message to its head honcho, saying: “A proud moment for Autohub and the Philippine automotive industry. We extend our warmest congratulations to Mr. Willy Tee Ten, President of the Autohub Group, on his appointment as President of EVAP.”

Autohub Group brands

The Autohub Group carries various brands stretching from economy passenger cars to luxury wheels.

At the time of writing, the company deals with the sale of high-end marques such as Mini, Lotus, Zeekr, Nissan (GT-R), and Shelby American Incorporated. 

Its passenger car brands include Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Kia, Mazda, Geely, Morris Garages (MG), GAC, JAC, GWM, and JMC. 

Meanwhile, the Autohub Group also dabbles in the local two-wheel market with names like Triumph, Vespa, and Segway.

Well-versed in EVs

Due to the extensive portfolio of Autohub Group, Tee Ten is a man who knows his new energy vehicles.

For example, Mini has the Aceman, while Lotus has the Eletre. Zeekr, too, which is basically Geely’s premium electric car arm, has a handful of upmarket electric cars, such as the 7X and 009. 

On the other hand, Ford fans can choose to go full electric with the Mustang Mach-E or play it safe with the Territory Hybrid. Additionally, the Nissan Leaf is an appealing option for city dwellers, while the Kia EV9 or the Sorento Turbo Hybrid could appeal to those with more adventurous lifestyles. 

Further, customers shopping for a Mazda car can select from electrified iterations of models like the CX-60 or Mazda3.

Other notable ones include the Geely EX5, MG 4 EV, GAC Emkoo Hybrid, JAC Ytterby, and JMC JMEV2. 

“With this new leadership role, he further strengthens the industry’s collective drive toward innovation, electric mobility, and sustainable transportation,” Autohub Group wrote.

“Your leadership continues to move the industry forward,” it added.
