Ford Bronco to enter PH market soon

MANILA: Ford Philippines will expand its lineup soon as the Bronco nameplate will arrive in the country within the year.

The Blue Oval’s local distributor made the announcement in a statement today, saying that the reservation for the upcoming offering will be opened soon exclusively via the company’s online reservation portal and will be “supported by all Ford dealers nationwide.”

“More information including product specifications and reservation timings will be shared closer to launch date,” Ford Philippines said in a statement.

While waiting for the official details, here’s what the Ford Bronco is in other markets around the globe.

Offered in two- and four-door body options, the Ford Bronco is equipped with turbocharged, direct-inject Ecoboost engines (2.3-, 2.7-, or 3.0-liter versions) paired to either a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic gearbox. The mills can deliver up to 330 horsepower and as much as 415 Newton-meters of torque.

Should our hunch be correct, the country will likely have the four-door, 10-speed automatic transmission versions given the usual preference of local car buyers.

The vehicle’s four-door option offers a wheelbase of up to 2959.1 millimeters depending on the variant, meaning that the vehicle provides much legroom to all its occupants.

Designed to appeal to those who love the great outdoors, the Ford Bronco abroad has 4x4 capabilities with part-time selectable engagement and some optional technologies like the Trail One-Pedal Drive, Trail Turn Assist, Electronic-Locking Rear Axle, and Trail Control.
