Apart from the aforementioned, the crossover, which is technically a refresh, likewise sports a heavily revised exterior design.
So, what is the Ford Territory Hybrid offering to prospective buyers? Let’s find out here.
Exterior
Appearance-wise, the newly launched Ford Territory Hybrid’s exterior saw plenty of changes that make it more modern and sleek.
For starters, its front fascia looks much rounder than ever before, courtesy of its flatter hood and its square-shaped grille that follows the contour of the crossover's nose. Also redesigned were its LED headlamp clusters, which are now more compact. Its LED daytime running lamps were also adjusted to be larger and more visible.
Over towards its side sections, it looks much closer to the pre-updated version, save for the new set of more elegant 18-19-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Its rear also looks identical to the older version, except for the “hybrid” badging.
Likewise carried over from the older internal combustion-only version are chrome window lines, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, and black plastic claddings. Early adopters of the new Territory Hybrid, however, will get exclusive additions such as hybrid side decals (on the lower silver door trim) and light-up front and rear “Ford” logos.
Other notable exterior features available on the Ford Territory Hybrid, particularly the top-spec Titanium X variant, includes the following:
- Automatic headlamp functionality
- Puddle lamps
- Power-folding and adjustable side mirrors with heating
- Hands-free tailgate
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Chrome door handles
For reference, here are the dimensions of the Ford Territory Hybrid Titanium X:

Interior
Inside, the top-spec Ford Territory Hybrid Titanium X carried over the two-tone (black and white) color scheme of the old similarly named trim. The entry-level Territory Hybrid Trend, meanwhile, comes standard with a mostly black interior.
For additional eye-candy and comfort, the model also received contrast stitching for its leather seats, leather steering wheel, and dashboard. Speaking of which, the dash of the new electrified Territory doesn’t depart that much when it comes to shapes and arrangement.
It still has a dial-type gear selector positioned near its electronic parking brake and drive mode selector, a deep center console box, a storage cubby hold beneath the center console, a front center armrest, and a panoramic sunroof.
The five-seater hybrid crossover also has 60:40 split-folding rear seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, front seat ventilation, and dual-zone automatic air-conditioning.
For its digital displays, the Titanium Hybrid boasts a sizable panoramic display that’s similar in stature to the one present in the old model. The aforementioned is made up by a 12-inch digital gauge cluster seamlessly linked to a similarly-sized center infotainment display.
Connectivity aboard the ride is provided by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has USB ports, a 12-volt accessory outlet, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and an eight-piece speaker set. New to the refresh is an Arkamys Soundstage feature, which promises to improve sound quality and clarity inside the vehicle.
Safety
As standard, the new Ford Territory Hybrid has dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, roll over mitigation, tire pressure monitoring, and ISOFIX - among others.
Supporting the aforementioned, at least on the top-spec Titanium X trim, is an array of advanced driver-assist systems, such as:
- 360-degree view camera
- Adaptive cruise control
- Blind spot information system
- Rear-cross traffic alert
- Automatic high beams
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Lane departure warning
- Lane keep assist
- Lane centering control
Powertrain
Under the hood of the Ford Territory Hybrid is a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid inline-4 gasoline engine paired with a two-speed dedicated hybrid automatic transmission.
On its own, the vehicle's internal combustion engine can produce up to 148 horsepower (hp) and 230 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The Territory Hybrid's electric motor, on the other hand, can dish out 215 hp and 315 Nm of torque.
According to Ford's local arm, the said closed-loop hybrid powertrain operates by automatically switching between an electric vehicle (EV), Series, Parallel, Parallel High Speed, and Energy Recovery modes in order to achieve optimum power and fuel economy depending on the driving situation.
To recover energy for its 1.83 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion nickel cobalt manganese battery, the Ford nameplate also has regenerative braking.
Ensuring ride quality and handling for the model is a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension. The aforementioned is enhanced by the new “Comfort Braking” mode - a system that actively counteracts “diving” or the pitching of the vehicle’s front end during braking.
Moreover, the model has a steering mode feature, which can adjust the vehicle’s steering sensitivity. The aforementioned goes along with its drive modes, which consist of Economy, Normal, and Sport.
Pricing
The Ford Territory Hybrid starts at P1.399 million for the entry-level Trend, and P1.599 million for the top-spec Titanium X.
Available colors for the model include Panther Black, Crystal White Pearl, Oasis Green, Cactus Gray, Star White, and Blue Panther.
As mentioned above, the model is offered with limited Ford illuminated logos and Hybrid side decals. Also available for early adopters is a free three-year Scheduled Service Plan (SSP).
