Ford PH to unveil new Territory this week

MANILA: Ford is set to introduce the latest version of the Territory for the Philippine market this week.

Based on the announcement posted over its official Facebook page, the aforementioned offering will be revealed on Friday at the Bonifacio Global City Amphitheater in Taguig.

“Get ready to drive your vibe with the New Ford Territory. Coming this August 8,” one of Ford Philippines’ social media posts pertaining to the launch noted.

As seen in one of the videos, the new Ford Territory that will make its local debut has a strong resemblance to the one available in China (which is called the Equator).

The string of announcements from the Blue Oval followed the release of the Land Transportation Office Memorandum Circular VDM-2025-4495 stating some pieces of information about the new Ford Territory Hybrid.

Aside from that, the launch also backed up  Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes’s cryptic message when he said that the Mustang Mach-E “will be the first but not the last” new energy vehicle that will arrive in the country.

Here are some details about the new Ford Territory as stated in the document that the government agency released some two months back.

Carrying the vehicle’s weight are the 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/55 radial tires.

The biggest change for the upcoming product will likely be the powertrain as the LTO mentioned that it is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine mated to an electric motor with a lithium-ion battery. Such a setup allows the crossover to run at a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.

At the time of posting, Zigwheels Philippines still has yet to see a internal combustion engine-powered option, which means that the nameplate’s forthcoming version might only be available in a sole new energy vehicle format.

Checking overseas markets, the Ford Territory counterpart in China is being served with a plug-in hybrid version. It comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid gasoline mill that has the capacity to provide:

• Maximum output: 147.5 horsepower
• Peak torque: 240 Newton-meters

Since the LTO has identified the new Ford Territory as a hybrid vehicle, the agency noted that it is qualified for the incentives under Republic Act 11697 (commonly known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act).

Further, customer may expect a price bump for the new Territory compared to the pricing of the outgoing version, which already ranges from P1.335-P1.625 million (depending on the trim).
