KEY TAKEAWAYS
What LTO document revealed the possible reveal of the Ford Territory Hybrid in the Philippines?
The speculation about retail of the Ford Territory Hybrid started with the LTO issuing Memorandum Circular VDM-2025-4495.What powers the Ford Territory Hybrid?
The Ford Territory Hybrid is equipped with 1.5-liter engine mated to an electric motor with a lithium-ion battery. This as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released the documentation about the Territory Hybrid — which could be the answer behind Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes’s cryptic message during a meeting with select members of the motoring media when he said that the Mustang Mach-E “will be the first but not the last” new energy vehicle that will arrive in the country.

While Ford Philippines has yet to confirm this, here are some bits of information about the model as stated in the LTO Memorandum Circular VDM-2025-4495.
Vehicle specifications
Based on the aforementioned document, the Ford Territory Titanium Hybrid 4X2 AT that will enter the Philippine market measures:

Gross vehicle weight (in kilograms) |

Further, the vehicle rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/55 radial tires.

Powering the five-seater sport utility vehicle is 1.5-liter gasoline-fed engine mated to an electric motor with a lithium-ion battery. Such a setup allows the crossover to run at a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
Checking markets abroad, the Ford Territory counterpart in China (called the Equator) is the model’s plug-in hybrid version. It comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid gasoline mill that can dish out:
- Maximum output: 147.5 horsepower
- Peak torque: 240 Newton-meters

Going back to the LTO document, the Ford Territory has been distinguished as a hybrid vehicle and is qualified for the incentives under Republic Act 11697 (commonly known as the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act).

As of posting, Zigwheels Philippines has yet to see a pure internal combustion engine-powered iteration of the soon-to-be-revealed product of the collaboration between the Blue Oval and Jiangling Motors Corporation. This could mean that the yet-to-be-released iteration might come in a sole electrified version.
