GAC PH to stage courtside activities in PBA, UAAP games

MANILA: GAC Philippines is set to stage courtside activities in upcoming Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) games.

Of note, the local wing of the Chinese carmaker has partnered with Cignal TV and TV5 for its multi-league “Go Above Competition” sports marketing campaign. That said, the auto brand looks to take fan engagement to an entertaining new level. 

“Sports isn't just about intense competition on the hardwood, it is also about bringing fans together and sharing memorable, joy-filled moments,” GAC Philippines President Calvin Cheng was quoted as saying. 

“Through Front Seat Faces, we want to bring a lighter, playful twist to game day while showcasing how GAC vehicles fit seamlessly into every aspect of daily life,” he added.

Front Seat Faces 

Rolling out across UAAP Season 89 and the PBA Governors’ Cup, Front Seat Faces—GAC Philippines noted—puts passionate basketball fans right in the spotlight. 

During game timeouts and quarter breaks, selected fan representatives from competing teams will step up to act out relatable and exaggerated daily driving prompts delivered live by the host. 

Fans will go head-to-head to see who can pull off the most dramatic facial expression to earn rewards that include arena bragging rights and exclusive prizes courtesy of GAC Philippines. 

The featured prompts include the following: 

• Getting caught by a stranger picking your nose at a stoplight
• Spotting your favorite basketball player standing on the sidewalk 
• Spilling hot coffee on your white shirt right on the way to work 
• Realizing you forgot your laptop at home right before an important presentation 
• Finding out you are not on mute while attending a work meeting from your car 
• Hearing a radio program name your car plate number as a promo winner 

Highlighting GAC’s next-gen lineup 

Beyond delivering interactive fun to the arena, Front Seat Faces highlights GAC Philippines’ versatile lineup of feature-packed vehicles tailored for modern Filipino lifestyles.

“The activation reinforces GAC Philippines’ broader partnership with Cignal TV and TV5 across the PBA, PVL (Philippine Volleyball League), and UAAP, blending high-energy sports action with world-class mobility solutions,” the brand shared.
