Green GSM recognized at AREA 2025

MANILA: Soon after the company launched in the Philippines, Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) was recognized at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025. 

Per the all-electric ride-hailing platform, the honors celebrate its pioneering role in shaping a sustainable transportation ecosystem in Vietnam and expanding its green mobility model across the region. 

“Sustainability at Green GSM goes beyond strategy. It is deeply embedded in our everyday decisions, our culture, and how we grow,” Green GSM Director of Training and Culture Development  Phan Thi Hong Dung said during the award ceremony.

“We believe that a truly sustainable model only works when every individual within the ecosystem chooses to live green, work green, and serve their community with kindness and responsibility. Each ride with Green GSM not only helps reduce emissions but also encourages positive habits and sets new standards for sustainable living in society. We are proud that Green GSM’s journey toward global expansion has been recognized on such a prominent platform in Asia,” she added. 

Green GSM stood out in the Green Leadership category for its scalable and inclusive approach to electrifying urban transport. 

The company has expanded beyond Vietnam in just two years. At the time of writing, Green GSM is offering services in Laos, Indonesia, and Philippines, completing more than 300 million trips with over 1.7 billion zero-emissions kilometers (km). 

Per Green GSM, the total reduction in carbon dioxide emissions contributed by the company is estimated to be over 211,000 tons, equivalent to the annual carbon absorption capacity of approximately 3,200 hectares of forest. 

In the Philippines, the company employs a fleet of VinFast vehicles — specifically, a commuter version of the VF 5. 

Locally, the VinFast VF 5 is offered in a single variant with a price tag of P880,000 with a battery subscription or P1.05 million without a battery plan.

The VinFast VF 5 has the following exterior appointments:

• Roof-mounted spoiler with integrated stop lamp 
• Bumper-set taillamps 
• Hydraulically-assisted tailgate 

Inside, passengers can expect the below amenities: 

• Seven-inch digital instrument cluster 
• Eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto connectivity 
• Manual hand brake 
• Rotary-type gear selector
• Leather seats 
• Plastic dashboard, steering wheel 

When it comes to safety, those riding the VinFast VF 5 will get the following: 

• Rear cross-traffic alert
• Blind spot detection 
• Rear parking assist 
• Rearview camera with guide lines 
• Speed-sensing door locks
