Here's how the Hyundai Stargazer X can become your glamping buddy

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) has shown off how the updated Stargazer X can function as a glamping or overlanding vehicle. Specifically, a dressed-up example was shown off at its launch event, equipped with an awning and a roof rack.

The aforementioned was accomplished by providing the updated Hyundai Stargazer X with a load-bearing bridge-type roof rail that can accommodate up to 100 kilograms of cargo or accessories. The said capacity doesn’t sound like much, but there are plenty of outdoor equipment already available in the aftermarket that are well within that said weight range. 

Sure, the updated multi-purpose vehicle nameplate is still far from an all-out off-roader, but it has other mechanical bits that will help make it great for curated parks, trails, and campgrounds.

Specifically, the model has a ground clearance of 190 millimeters - a whole lot more compared to its rivals. With that amount of space to play with, the Hyundai-made MPV will have no problems dealing with gravel paths, the occasional pothole, and other bumpy road surfaces. The aforementioned is coupled with its set of 17-inch wheels, which Hyundai says improves the stability of the said model. 

The updated Hyundai Stargazer X’s interior likewise has plenty of room to work with, especially when bringing along camping implements. With its second and third rows folded flat, it can swallow up to 1,892 liters. Plus, the flat folding seats can work as a cushy sleeping platform on the go.

In the Philippines, the updated Hyundai Stargazer X starts at P1.318 million for the GLS Plus and P1.378 million for the top-of-the-line Premium. 

Packaged along with the said model is a one-year free preventive maintenance service (PMS) package, free service for PMS pick-up and delivery, as well as a five-year warranty.
