Hyundai Venue returns to PH with P778k starting price

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines Incorporated (HMPH) has brought back the Venue subcompact crossover. It was reintroduced after being discontinued for the local market some time ago. 

Now, the current version, HMPH says, boasts an improved set of amenities despite its modest price range. For reference, the said model starts at P778,000, making it competitive against the likes of the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. 

“The return of the Hyundai Venue reaffirms HMPH’s commitment to making the Hyundai ownership experience within reach, while maintaining the brand’s renowned quality and reliability. At the same time, we also answer our customers’ demands by bringing back this notable nameplate,” HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete said.

Powertrain

Under the hood of the Hyundai Venue is a 1.6-liter gasoline engine capable of producing up to 121 horsepower (hp) and 151 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. 

Depending on the trim, the front-wheel-drive model may come with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Further power optimization for the ride is provided by three drive modes, which include normal, economy, and sport. It likewise uses a front MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam suspension system. Stopping power, on the other hand, comes from front and rear disc brakes (rear drums for the manual variant). 

Exterior

For its lineup of exterior features, the model was equipped with LED daytime running lamps, 15-17-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, and static bending halogen headlamps. According to Hyundai, the aforementioned feature enables enhanced illumination when taking corners or bends. 

The higher-spec trims of the Venue also have power-folding side mirrors, roof rails, and a roof-mounted rear spoiler.

Interior

For its cabin, the Hyundai Venue comes with a five-seater layout with leather or polyurethane upholstery. Everyone inside is kept cool by a manual air-conditioning system, while interior space can be optimized via its 60:40 split-folding rear seat. Its driver, on the other hand, has access to the following features: 

• Tilt and telescopic steering column
• Leather steering wheel
• Manual parking brake
• Drive mode selector
• 4.2-inch instrument cluster
• Smart key with push-to-start button

The Hyundai Venue’s main display is an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has two front cabin USB ports, as well as a four-piece speaker system.

Safety

For safety, the Hyundai-made subcompact crossover comes standard with dual front airbags, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking, hill-start assist, an engine immobilizer, and electronic stability control - among others. 

Pricing, availability

Here are the suggested retail prices for the Hyundai Venue: 

• Venue GL MT - P778,000
• Venue GL AT - P898,000
• Venue GLS AT - P998,000

Included with each purchase of the Hyundai Venue is a five-year, or 200,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. 

Moreover, the small crossover is currently available with cash discounts of up to P46,000, a downpayment for as low as P28,000, and a low monthly amortization of P15,000. The aforementioned are available from HMPH’s bank partners, such as Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI), EastWest Bank, and Banco de Oro (BDO). 

For people who want to see the reintroduced Hyundai Venue in the metal, be aware that it will be available for public viewing at the Hyundai Mobility Experience display at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Amphitheater until September 14, 2025.
