Honda’s Jazz and Jazz Crosstar shall conquer Europe, this summer

MANILA: Honda will introduce the fourth-generation Jazz for the European market at next month’s 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Along with the regular B-segment hatchback, Honda will also be introducing the Jazz Crosstar for the continent. Only the hybrid model is set to be offered for European markets.

The 2020 Honda Jazz was actually revealed at the end of last year as Honda Fit but is heading for Europe this summer as Jazz and its crossover sibling Honda Jazz Crosstar.

Visitors at the show will experience the full electric Honda e:HEV lineup. Honda Jazz and Honda Jazz Crosstar are two models of the six to be launched that will see all Honda’s mainstream models in Europe electrified by 2022.

Honda has developed a unified brand under new e:TECHNOLOGY consisting a range of electrified products and energy management innovations. Honda’s product lineup represents its ambition to provide a full range of electrified mobility and energy products to suit modern lifestyles.

One can easily identify the new Jazz by its e:HEV logo. The Jazz e:HEV, is a full hybrid with two electric motors that are intended as the primary propulsion motors. One is known as the TRC engine, the other as the GEN engine – i.e. the traction engine for propulsion and the generator engine for energy recovery. In hybrid mode, the generator produces electricity via the combustion engine and via recuperation, which is either temporarily stored in the battery or directly transmitted to the traction motor next to it.

Jazz Crosstar variant has a visual presence which is bolstered by a bolder front grille design, substantial black trim and stylish side sills.

The Crosstar-specific alloy wheels, which widen towards the rim, create an increased sense of stability and enhance the variant’s robust styling. To broaden the appeal of the model, the rugged Jazz Crosstar variant presents a more SUV-style proposition, orientated toward those with active lifestyles. Available with the same hybrid powertrain and interior features as the standard model, the new Jazz Crosstar features increased ride height, water-resistant upholstery and integrated roof rails. Undoubtedly, Honda swears by its conventional Jazz design with little evolution.

We expect Honda to delight its customer base in Philippines, with its new e:HEV Jazz and Jazz Crosstar.
