Jaguar I-Pace bags World Car of the Year Award 2019

MANILA: The all-electric Jaguar I-Pace has created history by being the first model ever to take over three World Car honours- the World Car of the Year, World Green Car of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year.

The World Car Awards were held at New York International Auto Show 2019 and the panel included 86 motoring journalists from 24 countries. I-Pace did receive 62 awards in a year, including the European Car of the Year in Germany and Norwegian, and UK car of the year.

On the latest win of the I-Pace, Prof. Dr Ralf Speth, the Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover commented “It is an honour that the Jaguar I-PACE has received these three accolades from the prestigious World Car jurors. For I-PACE to be awarded 2019 World Car of the Year,

World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car gives our first all-electric vehicle the ultimate recognition it deserves.” He also mentioned the efforts of the team in the building the I-PACE and their passion for making it an outstanding vehicle.

Jaguar I-Pace was accoladed with the best design title owing to its rich muscular exterior with short overhang and heavy haunches, which gives it an amazing finish. The spacious interior that features AI technology and advanced infotainment gives it a perfect expression of a modern time Jaguar.

Along with the four-wheel drive layout and a state-of-the-art 90kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 470 kilometres, the vehicle offers no less than a sports car performance.

It is also capable of filling 80% battery in just 40 minutes. The battery is further complemented by range optimising technologies and pre-conditioning system.

Furthermore, I-Pace gained safety ratings of five-star Euro NCAP for the body structure that provides a high level of occupant protection. It also includes a deployable bonnet and emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
