Jetour Auto PH, Midori forge alliance anew

MANILA: After recently concluding their cooperation for 2023, Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated (JAPI) and Midori Clark Hotel and Casino recently renewed their collaboration.

The contract signing ceremonies for the updated cooperation was made on May 31, 2024.

Under the new partnership, the automotive distributor’s hotel partner will raffle off a total of eight Jetour T2 models to those who will sign up for test drives.

The first two winners of the Jetour T2 were drawn last May 31 and June 1 while the names of the six others will be drawn on the following dates: July 26 and 27; September 27 and 28, and November 29 and 30.

The Jetour T2 will be on display at the said establishment every weekend until the end of the year.

JAPI-Midori tie-up

JAPI noted the significance of the renewed partnership, saying that Midori Clark Hotel and Casino was its first partner hotel since it started its automotive business in the country in March 2023.

"Midori Clark Hotel and Casino placed its utmost trust in our products and services, despite our being a new player in the Philippine automotive market. They saw the immense potential in the world-renowned Jetour brand that we carried, and they had faith that our team at JAPI could replicate the brand's worldwide success and growth here in the country, which in turn would enhance those brands that we associated with," JAPI Managing Director Miguelito Jose said.

Jetour T2 specs

Launched last April at the Manila International Auto Show 2024, the Jetour T2 is the brand’s latest addition to the local stable.

Measuring 4,785 millimeters (mm) long; 2006 mm wide; and 1,880 mm tall with a 2,800 mm wheelbase and 220 mm ground clearance, the vehicle comes with short overhangs and sharp approach and departure angles.

Complementing the sport utility vehicle’s overall boxy look and beefy design are the squared head- and tail lamps, bulky fender flares, a pair of huge step boards and roof rails on top of the vehicle’s dome, and large wheels.

The Jetour T2 welcomes occupants inside its cabin with leather seats, a steering wheel that has a flat top and bottom, 10-inch cluster gauge, and 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Powering the Jetour T2 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with the Jetour XWD system that automatically switches between two-wheel to four-wheel-drive. It also has an automated limited-slip differential.

On paper, the powertrain can deliver as much as 181 horsepower and up to 320 Newton-meters of torque.

Available in Stone Gray, Bora Blue, Techno Black, and Gobi Beige, the all-new Jetour T2 is being retailed in two variants with the following price tags:

• T2 Beyond: P2.498 million
• T2 Terrain: P2.598 million
