MANILA: Lotus has launched “Driving Change,” its new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Charter. Its four commitments will establish the automaker's full potential to be a responsible global company.
The four core commitments are:
The charter, a vital element of the Vision80 strategy, which is steering Lotus' transition from a UK sports car company to a truly global performance car business and brand in time for its 80th anniversary in 2028, emphasizes how Lotus will become the first established sports car maker in the world to have a fully electric product range.
A strong ESG proposal promotes investment and asset optimization, employee engagement and productivity, and business efficiency. Additionally, it guarantees that Lotus always adheres to its obligations under external regulations, fostering productivity and competitiveness in all facets of the company.
“Our new ESG Charter formalizes many activities that we have been carrying out for a number of years. Lotus as a business has always been agile, efficient and impactful within the automotive industry. Now, more than ever, as we transform rapidly to become a global pioneer of electric performance vehicles, we recognize our responsibility to do so in ways that lead our industry in minimizing its impact on the environment, benefitting society and the planet as a whole,” Lotus Cars Managing Director Matt Windle said.
“It is brilliant to see Lotus, a truly iconic UK car brand, leading on the transition to cleaner transport by joining the Zero Emission Vehicle Declaration,” UK Government Minister for Investment Lord Grimstone stated. “I look forward to seeing Lotus continue to innovate and combine electrification with high performance.”
