MIAS 2026: 212 enters PH market with T01 SUV, see it in 6 pictures

MANILA: Sport utility vehicle (SUV) specialist 212 has formally entered the Philippine market with its all-new T01 off-road-capable offering at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). 

The brand is under the distributorship of Transcorp Incorporated, but globally, do note that 212 is under Beijing Auto Works (BAW) International. Notably, Transcorp Incorporated itself is the same company that handles the Rox marque in the Philippine market. 

As for the 212 T01, it is a rugged-looking ride that is said to be inspired by Chinese military vehicles. In this regard, it is similar to the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and the Land Rover Defender - born out of war and have evolved to become civilian-spec “go anywhere” rides.

212 T01: specs, features

Under the hood of the Philippine-spec 212 T01 is a 2.0-liter inline-four turbodiesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. At its maximum, the said powertrain can deliver 168 horsepower and 415 Newton-meters of torque. 

Additionally, the model uses a ladder-frame chassis, which is combined with front and rear five-link suspension systems, as well as front and rear locking differentials. It also has selectable terrain modes. 

Style-wise, the vehicle is attractively boxy. It looks like old off-road SUV models, which of course means chunky bumpers and sizable wheel arches. It also gets LED lighting fixtures, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, and rain-sensing wipers.

Inside the 212 T01 is a five-seater layout equipped with leather upholstery and an automatic air-conditioning system. And while the look of the vehicle goes for a more rustic appeal, it actually has plenty of tech features, which include, but are not limited to:

• 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster
• 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Electronically adjustable front seats with ventilation
• Automatic air conditioning
• Wireless smartphone charging pad

As of its introduction at 2026 MIAS, the all-new 212 T01 retails at P2.688 million.
