Mitsubishi crosses 1 million sales in the Philippines

MANILA: Mitsubishi, one of the major Japanese automakers operating in the Philippines for long, has sold 1 million vehicles in the country. Among the numerous records that the automaker has been setting up lately, this one holds a special place in the closet.

There is no denying to the fact that Mitsubishi has a special affection towards the Philippines as the automobile manufacturer has been operating in the country for 55 years now. What’s even more appreciable is that the brand stuck with us even in the times of difficult economic circumstances.

Mitsubishi credits its former and current employees, supplier, dealers, and the customers who have shown their faith in the brand for so long. The automaker also feels very fortunate and overwhelmed by the trust and response the masses of the Philippine has shown towards its vehicle and services.

“Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has been selling top quality vehicles to the Filipino people for more than five decades. This unprecedented record withstood the test of time which brought us to where we are today”, said Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, MMPC President and CEO.

During the celebration of the achievement, Mitsubishi thanked the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) along with the Board of Investment (BOI) for supporting the Japanese automaker throughout this journey.

Mitsubishi also showed gratitude for the help it received in growing the Philippine automotive industry and developing small and medium-sized enterprises in the country. The brand also promised to contribute to the growth of the Philippine economy via its manufacturing plant.

Mitsubishi might have sold a million vehicles in the Philippines, however, it promises to keep bringing new and better cars to quench the automotive thirst of the Filipinos.
