Mitsubishi receives 2 awards from PH Red Cross

MANILA: The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) gave Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) a Certificate of Recognition and Galloner Award to recognize the latter’s contribution to the country’s voluntary blood donation program.

Presented during the Philippine Red Cross Recognition Ceremony held at the Sta. Rosa Stadium on July 15, 2026, the Japanese automaker’s local distributor received the distinction for contributing 404 blood units through numerous voluntary blood donation initiatives conducted in between January 1-December 31 last year.

In a statement, MMPC shared that the recognition reflects the collective efforts of the MMPC management, employees, and volunteer blood donors “who continuously support the Philippine Red Cross' mission of ensuring the availability of safe and adequate blood for patients in need.”

“Beyond manufacturing world-class vehicles, MMPC remains committed to creating positive social impact through programs that promote health, safety, and community welfare. The recognition serves as another testament to the company's belief that meaningful partnerships and the collective efforts of its employees can make a lasting impact in the lives of many Filipinos,” the company noted in a statement. 

“As MMPC continues its corporate social responsibility initiatives, it remains steadfast in supporting programs that uplift communities and encourage employees to become active partners in nation-building through volunteerism and humanitarian service,” it added.

Additionally, MMPC shared that six employees from the Manufacturing Division were honored with the Galloner Award by the Philippine Red Cross in recognition of their commitment to voluntary blood donation drives.

The awardees—who donated at least one gallon of blood through eight or more donations—are:

• Garizaldy Diaz
• Kevin Mendros
• Marijoyce Pellogo
• Mark Kevin Galang
• John Patrick Hardillo
• Nazer Lopez

Conducted quarterly throughout the year, the company's regular blood donation activities encourage employees to participate in life-saving initiatives while fostering a culture of volunteerism, compassion and community involvement. 

"This recognition reinforces MMPC's commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian service. Through continued collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross, MMPC remains dedicated not just to promoting voluntary blood donation, but also to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others," MMPC Safety, Health and Environment Department Vice President Marfel Ancheta shared.

Last year, the PRC gave the firm the “Blood Services Platinum Award.”

To note, MMPC regularly supports the PRC through various initiatives. In 2022, MMPC donated P1 million to PRC to further the organization’s efforts in helping those who have experienced the wrath of Typhoon Odette.
