MANILA: The hybrid version of the Mitsubishi Xforce was hailed as the 2025 Car of the Year in Thailand.

The Xforce HEV is equipped with a 16-valve, double overhead cam,1.6-liter engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system and a high-output electric motor mated to a high-performance drive battery.In a statement, the Japanese automaker shared that it was first time for them to receive such recognition in the Land of Smiles — specifically from the Thai Automotive Journalists Association.
"We are honored to receive these two prestigious awards that acknowledge Mitsubishi Motors’ dedication to driving technology, safety, design, and environmental responsibility,” Mitsubishi Motors Thailand President and Chief Executive Officer Ryoichi Inaba said.
"We spent several months testing the Xforce HEV model, covering more than 100,000 kilometers across Thailand to evaluate its enhanced durability and driving performance. This recognition is a powerful motivation for us to continue developing even better vehicles for our customers in Thailand,” he added.

Premiered and manufactured in Thailand last March, the five-seater crossover incorporated an electric mill derived from the marque’s plug-in hybrid.
To note, the Xforce HEV comes with a 16-valve, double overhead cam,1.6-liter engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system and a high-output electric motor mated to a high-performance drive battery (first used in the hybrid iteration of the Xpander).
Other technologies fitted in the vehicle include:

- Active yaw control

- Five drive modes (Normal, Tarmac, Gravel, Mud, Wet)
Xforce in PH
In the Philippine market, the Mitsubishi Xforce only comes in internal combustion engine-powered variants. The said model was made locally available since mid-2024.
Outside, the vehicle still comes with the silky body complemented by the Dynamic Shield Concept led by the T-shaped head- and taillamps as well as the 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
