Soluto leads the way for Kia in the first half of 2019

MANILA: Things have become so much better for Kia Philippines ever since the automaker has joined hands with Ayala. From new launches to revisited models, the two brands have laid out their success strategy very well in the Philippines. The Kia Soluto, in particular, has been the best move made by the South Korean automobile manufacturer. The compact sedan has done very well in the Philippine automobile market since the day of its launch.

Thanks to the affordable price tag, ample power, and an array of features on the Soluto, the likes of the Toyota Wigo, Honda Brio, Mitsubishi Mirage G4, and the Suzuki DZire have been in trouble of late. The testament of the Kia Soluto's success is the 1,441 units that the automaker has sold from January 2019 to June 2019. This figure accounts for 60% of the total trades incurred by Kia in the Philippines during the period.

“The success of the Soluto shows Kia Philippines got the right approach when it comes to the Filipino buyer. We’ve realized that while the price is always a good come-on, the real reason why people choose a car is for its value. The Soluto, with standard features such as an advanced infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, appealed a lot to buyers.

Of course, this is notwithstanding the Soluto’s excellent packaging, efficient drivetrain, and great standard safety features—some of which remain optional or unavailable in other competitors in this price range", said Luigi Ignacio, Marketing Director for Kia Philippines.

While the automobile market did not witness any extravagant numbers during the first half of 2019, the time period for Kia, in particular, has been pretty good. At least the numbers say so. Moreover, Kia is no mood to sit down and relax as the automaker looks forward to increasing the business in the country even more.

“We have already introduced the likes of the Stinger GT and Forte GT at the Manila International Auto Show. More importantly, we have also introduced the Euro-4 compliant K2500 light-duty truck which should help us maintain our strong sales until the end of the year. We are also in the process of improving our dealership network, as well. Of course, we still have that one mystery unboxing towards the end of the year", said Jun Cajayon, Sales Director for Kia Philippines.
