Subaru Forester Born With a New Face

MANILA: Few days back the auto geeks in the Philippines were grumbling about not hearing much from the Japanese brand, Subaru and after the launch of much awaited Impreza at the NYC Auto Show 2016, the fans were delighted. It seems like the brand does not want to hold itself with just Impreza, as the automobile world has started buzzing about Subaru Forester.

Things are speeding up for this brand, as Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, is all set showcase the revamped 2016 Forester at the Manila International Auto Show 2016.

Having its first debut in the South East Asian region at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show, the updated Subaru Crossover will make its way in the Philippines auto market with aesthetic cosmetic upgrades. To keep up the pace with its competitions, the boxy Forester receives some finer detail changes for this year model. The most prominent changes are in its front end with the addition of the new front grille and brand new headlights. The mid-range 2.0i Premium trim will feature new sporty bumper as its 2.0XT trim while all the three trims will get revised alloy wheels though the measurements will be either same old 17 or 18-inch depending upon the variant.

Enhancements have been made to the interior also as the high-gloss piano black inserts replaced the low-rent silver trim. Its premium and range-topping models received new LCD cluster display, head-unit and the brand-new feature of the PIN code access system allowing owners to lock/unlock the car using a five-digit pin code.

Apart from the appearance and styling of the Forester, the main reason this crossover has always been the favorite of the crowd is its unique powertrain. The updated Forester will carry the brand's 2.0-litre boxer engine rated at the total power output of 150 hp in its first two variants. However, its 'XT' model is equipped with the direct injection and turbocharger putting out thundering power output 241 hp.

Developed with the new biodegradable intensive assembly, all new models of Forester will be available for booking from 7th April across all the Subaru showrooms in the country with the start of the MIAS 2016.
