VF MPV7 can handle PH rainy season, VinFast PH guarantees
Here are some key features that make the 3 wet-season worthy
MANILA: VinFast Philippines expressed confidence in the capabilities of its VF MPV7 in handling the challenges brought by the rainy season.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What is the price of the VinFast VF MPV 7?
The VinFast VF MPV 7 retails at P1.239 million, if bought with a battery subscription. How much ground clearance does the VinFast VF MPV 7 have?
The VinFast MPV 7 has a ground clearance of 185 millimeters.Although not an off-road sport utility vehicle, the Haiphong-headquartered marque’s local arm said that the model has the necessary technologies needed when driving during the wet season.
“The reality is that modern EVs are engineered to operate in challenging weather conditions, often with many of the same safety and convenience features found in conventional vehicles. The recently launched VinFast VF MPV 7 is one example. “Beyond its spacious seven-seat layout and family-friendly practicality, it comes equipped with several features that can make rainy-season driving easier and more comfortable,” VinFast noted in a statement.
Here are some of the VF MPV 7’s key features that VinFast Philippines believes would help drivers during rainy conditions.

Defogger, rear wiper, camera
VinFast noted that the VF MPV7 comes equipped with a rear defogger, which helps clear condensation from the rear glass, giving drivers the visibility needed from inside the cabin.

Water wading and ground clearance
Since many roads in the country are prone to flooding, ground clearance and water-wading capabilities are also highly considered by vehicle buyers.
VinFast Philippines noted that the VF MPV 7 offers 185-millimeter (mm) of ground clearance that can help drivers deal with uneven roads, standing water, and flooded intersections that commonly appear during storms. Aside from that, its 300mm water-wading depth gives an additional layer of reassurance.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone Miguel“Taken together, these two factors help dispel the common myth that EVs are somehow more vulnerable to water than gasoline-powered vehicles. In reality, modern electric vehicles undergo extensive testing for water resistance,” the company said.
However, the firm clarified these features, as well as vehicle electronic safety systems that are offered in vehicles—whether internal combustion engine powered, hybrid, or pure electric—are designed to provide additional protection in unexpected situations, not to encourage drivers to take unnecessary risks.
Stability Control and Traction Control
The VinFast VF MPV7 boasts electronic safety systems that are a big help especially during this time of the year when roads become slippery. These include:
- Electronic Stability Control
- Traction Control System
- Anti-lock Braking System
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
- Hill Start Assist
Although not always noticeable, these systems work to make sure occupants are safe.
“If a wheel begins to lose traction on a wet surface, these systems can automatically adjust power delivery and braking force to help maintain control. Think of them as an invisible safety net that steps in when road conditions become less predictable,” VinFast Philippines explained.
Safe charging
VinFast Philippines also assured that charging an electric vehicle in wet weather is safe and that the systems are designed specifically to operate outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Charging stations and vehicles incorporate multiple layers of protection that automatically monitor and manage electrical safety.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone MiguelAdditionally, the VF MPV 7 can be juiced up from 10 to 70 percent in around 30 minutes using a direct-current charger, which, for many families, can easily fit into a coffee stop, meal break, or rest stop during a road trip.
Lower operating costs
VinFast’s distributor in the country also claimed that generally, electric vehicles are less affected by stop-and-go traffic (which usually worsens when storms hit) since they do not idle in the traditional sense.
Moreover, VinFast's free charging program until March 2029—equivalent to nearly three years of charging savings from today. This could result in savings of hundreds of thousands of pesos for those who drive around 1,500 kilometers per month—compared to owners of gasoline-powered multi-purpose vehicles over the same period.
Photo by Cesar Guiderone MiguelAccording to VinFast Philippines, potential EV buyers might also want to consider the VF MPV7 as the company has introduced ownership options designed to make the transition easier.
For one, the model can be had for P1.239 million under the battery subscription program—reducing the upfront purchase price and making the vehicle more accessible to families entering the EV world for the first time.
Additionally, the first 1,000 customers who choose the battery subscription option will receive one year of free battery subscription for up to 2,000 kilometers per month while clients who opt to have the vehicle with the battery included will receive a direct discount of P27,200.
“These programs address another common misconception about EVs: that switching to electric [vehicle> necessarily requires a large upfront investment. By offering both battery subscription and battery-included options, buyers can choose the ownership model that best fits their budget and driving habits,” VinFast mentioned.

Powering the vehicle is an electric motor that can generate:

Peak torque (in Newton-meters) |

When fully charged, the 60-kilowatt-hour battery allows the vehicle to cover up to 450 kilometers (based on the New European Driving Cycle).
Inside, the VinFast VF MPV 7 is outfitted with leather-upholstered seats, power-adjustable front seats, and automatic air-conditioning. Like many other VinFast vehicles, the VF MPV 7 forgoes a digital gauge cluster. Instead, relevant driving information is conveyed on its central 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
