VinFast sells over 20K cars in home country last month

MANILA: VinFast has sold a total of 20,380 electric vehicles (EV) in its domestic market for the month of October. 

The feat was achieved following the company’s milestone, where it became the first Vietnamese manufacturer to sell more than 100,000 vehicles within the first nine months of 2025. 

Broken down, here are the best-selling models from the electric carmaker: 

VinFast VF 3	4,619 units
VinFast VF 5	4,450 units
VinFast VF 6	2,524 units
VinFast VF 7	1,190 units
VinFast VF 9	1,477 units

Since the beginning of 2025, the aforementioned models have also recorded stellar performance. The VinFast VF 3 sold 36,005 units — establishing itself as Vietnam’s “national car.” 

On the other hand, the VinFast VF 5 (an EV designed for daily driving) contributed some 35,406 units since the beginning of the year, while the VF 6 (a compact sport utility vehicle favored by Vietnamese motorists) sold a cumulative 10-month total of 16,949 units. 

As for the low-slung VinFast VF 7 SUV, a total of 7,067 units were delivered to their new owners.

Commercial vehicle sales

VinFast also did well in he commercial vehicle segment with the seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle Limo Green selling 4,160 units in October. 

Likewise, VinFast’s Herio Green, which was recently awarded “Commercial Fleet Vehicle of the Year” at the Car Choice Awards 2025, continued to affirm its position with 2,920 units sold in October. 

“More than 20,000 vehicles sold in October and more than 124,000 in 10 months are unprecedented figures in the Vietnamese automotive market, demonstrating the strong trust and support of customers for electric vehicles in general and VinFast cars in particular,” VinFast Global Sales and Marketing Deputy Chief Executive Officer Duong Thi Thu Trang was quoted as saying. 

“This also reaffirms the quality of our products, services, and the value VinFast brings to customers. As a Vietnamese automotive brand, we will always accompany customers to promote greener transportation, reduce environmental pollution, and improve the quality of life for everyone,” she added. 

Closing the year strong 

In the final two months of the year, VinFast is expected to officially begin delivering two completely new vehicle lines to customers: the EC Van (small commercial van) and Minio Green (compact urban car), further expanding customer options and meeting diverse needs.

VinFast Philippines, the automaker’s subsidiary in the country, is yet to announce whether it has plans to expand its portfolio locally with commercial vehicles or if it has plans to bring the EC Van and Minio Green to Philippine shores.
