WATCH: Lexus NX plays pivotal role in sci-fi flick ‘Moonfall’

MANILA: Lexus is embarking on another exciting role as the official automotive partner of Liongate for the new sci-fi disaster film Moonfall, directed by Roland Emmerich. The film is all about a mystery force that rips the moon out of its orbit around the Earth, causing it to hurtle toward a collision course with life as people know it. On a quest to save the Earth, the 2022 Lexus NX luxury crossover plays a key role in the heroic mission to restore order to the moon’s orbit.

The Lexus x Moonfall marketing campaign was launched last Friday, January 14, with “Enjoy the Ride,” a 30-second commercial that features the NX in high-action footage from the film. Watch it here.

In a statement, Lexus Marketing Vice President Vinay Shahani said, “The all-new NX represents the future of the Lexus brand, ushering in the next level of luxury. The NX’s bold styling, intuitive technology and connected driving feel make it the perfect partner for an epic adventure.”

The Lexus brand is widely highlighted in the film. In a three-minute high-action scenario, Sonny Harper (played by Charlie Plummer) drives the all-new NX. The Lexus GX 460 luxury SUV also makes an appearance as the government vehicle that Jo Fowler (played by Halle Berry) is transported in. Moreover, Tom Lopez (Michael Peña) works as a Lexus dealer and the film has a scene at his dealership.

The Lexus x Moonfall campaign will be published across video, digital, and social media channels. Media partners include The Verge, IMDb, Reddit, Roku, and YouTube.
