WATCH: MG x Ben&Ben for 'Di Ka Sayang' video

MANILA: With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the different restrictions in conducting public events, MG Philippines took a different path in showcasing its brand identity through music, while still remaining focused on confidently promoting original Pilipino music (OPM).

MG Philippines accompanied contemporary folk pop OPM group Ben&Ben on a spectacular road trip, on board a group of well-designed, contemporary, British heritage MG vehicles, with the goal of promoting the newest single of the band entitled "Di Ka Sayang."

The episode probed the thoughts of the band on never taking things for granted on the current state of things, being grateful for being able to do the things that they love to do, togetherness, as well as their thoughts on road trips.

The video, powered by MG Philippines, concluded with a special performance of "Di Ka Sayang," which was shot in a breathtaking location.

MG Philippines also coordinated with well-known FM radio station, Wish 107.5 in airing a “Wishclusive” Ben&Ben performance of its latest single to further strengthen their collaboration.

In terms of the youthful branding of MG Philippines, music is regarded as one of its pillars since the auto brand has appeared in various public events, promotions, and campaigns, such as the “MG Live!” free concert series, which aimed at highlighting the musical talent of Filipinos.

Executive Vice President and Director of Marketing and Communication Services for MG Philippines Lyn M. Buena said, “We had several MG Live! free concerts lined up for 2020 and, unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we felt it more prudent to hold off on mounting these events in light of upholding public safety protocols."

She added, "We miss live music events, and we feel this partnership with Ben&Ben offers the next best thing, while keeping everyone’s safety in mind. This extraordinary collaboration highlights the band’s love of road trips, our MG Philippines’ love for homegrown music, and our collective gratefulness for still being able to work on meaningful, creative endeavors amidst the challenges we all face. Likewise, the optimism of Ben&Ben’s latest single, ‘Di Ka Sayang,’ reminds us of our worth and the different roles we play in our day-to-day lives; this message takes on greater significance nowadays where, more than ever, being understanding and supportive of one another go a long way.”
