Suzuki GSX-R150 and GSX- S150 revealed at IMOS 2016
MANILA: It is not long that Suzuki Philippines introduced the GSX 250R in the Philippines and now the GSX badge has received its another member at the IMOS 2016. Yes, GSX-R150 and GSX- S150 have made their Indonesian debut. Both these bikes are based on the all-new GSX-R 125, which was unveiled at the Intermot 2016 for the European market. The design language is similar to the GSX series but the engines are different which are sourced from Suzuki Satria.
To rival Honda CBR150R and Yamaha R15, Suzuki’s GSX-R150 is a very important model for the Asian market. Considering GSX-R150, it measures 1975 mm in length, 670 mm in width and 1070 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 1300 mm and ground clearance stands at 150 mm. Further, the bike features LED front headlight, keyless ignition, digital instrument console which can be also seen on Indian bound Gixxer, and Suzuki Easy Start system. The GSX-R150 will be offered in Titan Black, Matt Black, Brilliant White, Metallic Triton Blue and Stronger Red with Titan Black.
The naked version of the bike, GSX- S150 weighs 127 kg, making it 1 kg heavier than the sporty version. This naked bike also uses LED lights without flaring, giving it a much aggressive appeal. It is available in Metallic Triton Blue, Matt Black, Strong Red with Titan Black, and Ice Silver color options. Both these bikes are powered by a 147-3 cc 1-cylinder, water cooled and fuel injected engine which is good to produce 19.17 hp maximum power at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of 13.9 Nm at 8500 rpm. The engine is further coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. For now, the bikes will be available in the Indonesia and for the Philippines, there is no news from the manufacturer.
