2016 Recap: Honda’s offering to the Philippines
It's that time of the year when we all look back at the past 365 days and wonder how quickly time flies by. We remember all the great things that happened and wish the same for the upcoming year. Being an auto-centric site, with hearts and minds solely devoted to cars, we thought of times that excited us most in the year 2016. One particular car brand that made the year thrilling was Honda. This Japanese auto brand made headlines this year pertaining to four car launches. Yes, you read it right, FOUR was the total count. Out of which one car was the first-time release and hailed from an entirely new segment, while the other three were next-generation model years of Honda’s long running successful cars.

All-New Honda Civic
The first Honda car to land on the Philippines land in 2016 was the 10th generation Civic. The said car is considered as one of best Honda work till date and shares a wide popularity worldwide. The 2016 Civic is new in many ways which are visible in form of its redesigned exterior, modern cockpit with advanced technologies and first locally available VTEC turbo mill. Civic in the year 2016 was globally bestowed with a total of fourteen awards, some of which included – 2016 Canadian Car of the Year and 2016 North American Car of the Year.
Refreshed Accord
The next car to receive a significant upgrade in the year 2016 was Honda’s premium sedan Accord. Like the all-new Civic, Accord too received upgradations on the exterior front and is now sportier and bolder with features like full LED lights, sportier alloy wheels, Active Cornering Lights and much more. Massive revisions are also done in the connectivity and safety front. All in all, the car was revamped suiting the changing taste and preferences of the buyers.
New Odyssey
Adapting to the changing market needs and demand, Honda in the year 2016 released new 8-passenger capacity Odyssey in the Philippines market. Known as the Odyssey EX variant; it showcased looks different from the ongoing model. Changes have also been done on the inside as the car now hosts many comfortable, convenient and safety features. To name a few the EX variant gets – 7-inch Touch Audio system, touch auto air-con, idle-stop system, eco-assist system and more.
Honda BR-V
One of the most anticipated launches of 2016 was Honda BR-V, the crossover/MPV. The car as expected was launched by Honda at 2016 Philippines International Motor Show. Here, the car gained some mixed reviews, while some praised it, others looked confused with its design. The car is available in two variants and has a starting price of Php 989,000. The first lot of car arrived in the Philippines on 10th December and how well the car can do regarding sale for the company will be revealed in months to come.
